Carragher Risks Wrath Of Former Teammate Gerrard By Claiming Celtic Ace Is Best Player In Scotland

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has named Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard as the best player currently playing in Scottish football.

Considering he is best friends with Rangers boss Steven Gerrard, some may have thought he would have gone with Alfredo Morelos but Carragher says he doesn’t mind risking the wrath of his former Liverpool teammate:

“Edouard, the Celtic striker. He’ll be in bed Stevie (Gerrard), don’t worry about it. Morelos gets sent off too much.”

Edouard’s statistics this season speak for themselves. The Frenchman has scored 27 goals and contributed 19 assists in 45 appearances for the Hoops.

He has been equally impressive at international level, having shown what he can do for France’s Under 21s, racking up an incredible 11 goals in six games since making his debut in September.

Edouard has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, but there is some hope that the 22-year-old will sign a new deal, and stay at least until the end of next season, when Celtic may have lifted their tenth league title in a row.
