Celtic Are Targeting Two Signings Before The Transfer Window Shuts (One Is Wanyama)

Celtic are looking at signing Bournemouth’s Jordon Ibe and Tottenham’s Victor Wanyama before the transfer deadline tonight, according to reports in England.

With Mikey Johnston expected to be out for the long term with a knee problem, and Mohamed Elyounoussi having been absent with a foot injury, manager Neil Lennon is said to be keen on strengthening out wide and it appears Ibe is being considered once again as a target. The former Liverpool star was previously linked with a move for Parkhead back in September.

Crystal Palace are, though, also said to be considering a move for Ibe, and it is said that Celtic would only offer to take the player on an initial six-month deal.

The 24-year-old may not be the only arrival at Celtic Park with reports also indicating that the Hoops have held talks with Tottenham over Wanyama.

Lennon is a big fan of the Kenyan international, having worked with the midfielder before, but there is likely to be fierce competition for the player which could scupper any return to Scotland.
