English Premier League club Fulham have held “initial talks” about signing Celtic target Bamba Dieng, according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth.
The Hoops, along with Newcastle, Everton and Leeds, have been named as possible suitors for the Marseille striker in recent days but Sheth believes that Fulham are the team pressing ahead with a move for the Ligue One star:
Fulham have held initial talks with Marseille over the signing of striker Bamba Dieng. 2 years left on contract & Marseille value him at €15m. Talks ongoing with Roma over Justin Kluivert. #BambaDieng #JustinKluivert #FFC #Marseille #ASRoma https://t.co/Ezv4P8jrmE

With Dieng’s asking price being €15m (£12.7m), a switch to Celtic Park always seemed unlikely, unless Ange Postecoglou’s side were looking to agree a loan deal.
The Scottish champions are thought to be in the market for another forward this summer, with Dieng reportedly one of the options being considered.
However, Celtic are not exactly short of numbers in the striker department. In addition to Giorgos Giakoumakis and Kyogo Furuhashi, the likes of Daizen Maeda and Albian Ajeti can also play up front if required.
If a player like Ajeti is sold before the transfer window closes, though, then a move for another forward may become more urgent.
