Celtic ‘Could Soon’ Make An Offer For Iranian Marksman

Celtic “could soon” table a bid for Desportivo Aves striker Mehrdad Mohammadi, according to TMW. The Italian website reports that the Scottish champions have registered their interest in the 26-year-old.

The Iranian only moved to Portugal from his homeland on a free transfer in July but he has been firing in the goals, having scored seven in 16 league appearances this season.

Mohammadi can also play on both flanks, and he can create goals as well as score them, having contributed seven assists for Desportivo Aves in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.

His form was rewarded with a call up to Iran’s national side, getting his first senior cap back in October, scoring on his debut in a 14 (fourteen) – 0 win over Cambodia.

Celtic are reportedly still after another forward before the close of the transfer window, and it appears that Mohammadi could well be one of the names being considered by the Hoops.
