Celtic Dealt Blow In Brady Chase But Remain In Contention For Another Irish Star

Celtic are set to miss out on Robbie Brady but they remain in the race to snap up Jeff Hendrick, according to the Irish Sun.

Both players have contracts that expire in the summer, but Burnley do have the option of extending Brady’s stay for a further year, which they are likely to do before his current deal runs out.

Hendrick’s future is far less certain. Clarets boss Sean Dyche revealed in February that the Premier League outfit were in talks with the 28-year-old over a contract extension but no agreement has been reached.

The Hoops may have to wait a bit longer, however, to try and sign the Irish international on a free transfer. FIFA have decided that any contracts that run down at the end of June can be automatically extended until whenever the season finishes.

It is unknown when that will be at the moment, with the global health crisis still unfolding, and Celtic will likely have to remain patient in their pursuit of Hendrick.
