Celtic Dealt Major Blow In Attempt To Sign Liverpool Star

Liverpool defender Ben Davies is not interested in leaving Anfield this summer, despite renewed interest from Celtic, according to reports in England.

The Hoops and Bournemouth have both been linked with loan moves for the 25-year-old but the player is believed to be determined to make his first-team debut for the Premier League club.

Davies has not made a single appearance since the Reds trumped Celtic for the centre-back’s signature back in January but he has been given assurances by manager Jurgen Klopp that he will be given opportunities next season.

The former Preston North End player faces an uphill task to get game time. Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are all close to returning from injury while Liverpool have also recruited Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig to strengthen their defensive options.

Whether Davies’s stance will change between now and the end of the transfer window, we shall have to wait and see.
