Celtic Defender Speaks Out Following Agent’s Claim He’s Set For Summer Departure

Celtic centre-back Kristoffer Ajer has refused to be drawn on whether he will be leaving Parkhead this summer.

His agent Tore Pedersen made it known last month that the Norwegian international could be set to depart at the end of the season, but when asked to clarify those remarks, Ajer remained tight-lipped about his future:

“I have two years left of the contract and do not focus on my future at all. What the media writes, I don’t focus on it.”

AC Milan have been heavily linked with a bid for Ajer, while Leicester City have also been mentioned as a possible destination with the club being managed by his former manager Brendan Rodgers.

However, when asked about the defender’s future, current Hoops boss Neil Lennon was pretty adamant that the 21-year-old would not be sold.

The Scottish champions are certainly in control of the situation, with the player having over two years remaining on his current deal. It appears that despite there being no new contract on the horizon, the club will look to keep Ajer, even if he is unsettled at Celtic Park.
