Celtic Forced To Omit January Signing From Europa League Squad

Celtic have been forced to omit Vakoun Issouf Bayo from their Europa League squad.

The £2m January signing from Slovakian side Dunajska Streda will not feature for the Hoops in Europe as selection rules only permit three new additions to the squad.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has opted to include fullback Jeremy Toljan, winger Oliver Burke and striker Timothy Weah instead.

It is not entirely surprising as Weah and Burke have featured regularly since being brought in on loan last month, with Bayo yet to make his first appearance for the Scottish club.

Scott Allan and Marvin Compper have also been omitted but Leigh Griffiths does keep his place in the squad despite having not played since December due to personal reasons.

Celtic face Valencia at Parkhead in the first leg of the last 32 tie on February 14th. They then travel to Spain for the return fixture the following week.
