Celtic Have Revived Their Move For African Champions Cup Winner Two Years After Being First Linked With The Player

Celtic have reignited their interest in Al Ahly attacking midfielder Mohamed Magdy, according to reports in Egypt.

The 26-year-old, who usually goes by the name of Afsha, was first linked with a move to Scotland when Neil Lennon was still manager.

However, it appears his name has returned to the Hoops’ radar, with it being claimed that they want to sign him on loan with an option to buy during the January transfer window.

Afsha has been an extremely influential player during a very successful period for Al Ahly. He was the player of the match in two African Champions League finals; both of which he won.

On top of that, the Egyptian international has helped secure five other major trophies, including the Egyptian Premier League, the Egyptian Cup, the Egyptian Super Cup and two African Super Cups.

We shall see if these reports about Afsha are corroborated by sources in the Scottish media in the coming days.
