Celtic Have Submitted Multiple Offers For 21 Year Old Midfielder Who Is Keen To Make Parkhead Switch

Celtic have tabled a number of bids for Busan IPark midfielder Kwon Hyeok-kyu, according to reports in the South Korean media.

The Hoops are believed to be waiting to see whether their last offer for Kwon is accepted, but the player is enthusiastic about making the switch.

Kwon can play in multiple positions, having been deployed as a holding midfielder, a number 10 and a winger in his short career so far.

The 21-year-old is, though, rather inexperienced. He has made only 60 senior appearances, with just 35 matches in South Korea’s top flight.

Busan even loaned Kwon out for the best part of two seasons to Gimcheon Sangmu but he did help them to promotion to K League 1 in 2021, before they were relegated the following campaign.

Reports also suggest that Celtic are after another midfielder, Yokohama F Marinos’s Tomoki Iwata, so it remains to be seen whether Kwon is an alternative to the J League Player of the Year or an additional signing.
