Celtic have held talks about signing Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Christopher Scott, according to reports in the German media.

The 19-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and, while Bayern do have the option to extend his stay for another year, the Bundesliga side may still be prepared to offload the player.

It is believed they are looking for around €600,000 (£508,000) for Scott, and they would also request having a buyback option on the German Under 20 international.

Celtic are reportedly not the only team from the UK interested in the teenager, though, with English Premier League club Brentford having also held discussions about snapping up the midfielder.

Scott has made just two senior appearances in his career so far. Those came in April last year when he came on as a substitute in matches against Union Berlin and Bayer Leverkusen. It remains to be seen who will win the race for his signature.
