Celtic Keeping Tabs On 1.25M Rated Shot Stopper Who Could Be Brought In To Compete With Hart

Celtic are interested in St Pauli goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj, according to reports in the UK.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are keen to provide more competition for Joe Hart, with Vasilis Barkas deemed surplus to requirements by the Scottish champions.

Vasilj only joined St Pauli from Ukrainian side Zorya Lugansk back in July but he had a very strong first season in Germany, helping his side to a fifth-place finish in Bundesliga 2.

The 26-year-old was rewarded for his fine form when he was handed his first cap for Bosnia back in March, starting the friendly against Costa Rica, and he has been a regular fixture in his country’s senior setup since then.

Vasilj is believed to be interested in moving on from St Pauli already, in order to further his career, and the German club are not expected to stand his way, with it being claimed he could be sold for only £1.25m.

Celtic are likely to have competition for the keeper, though, with Wolves and West Brom also looking to scout the player in upcoming international fixtures.
