Celtic Line Up Shock Loan Swoop For EPL Star Who Cost 25m Last Summer

Celtic are one of six clubs interested in snapping up Tottenham left-back Ryan Sessegnon, according to reports in the English media.

Spurs only signed the 20-year-old for £25m from Fulham last year but the fullback has struggled to establish himself at the Premier League club.

Sessegnon is reportedly being watched by Brighton, Newcastle, AC Milan, Ajax and Bayer Leverkusen, as well as the Hoops, and it is believed that he could leave on loan this summer if he fails to convince manager Jose Mourinho during preseason.

The England Under 21 international would be the perfect fit for Celtic if manager Neil Lennon switches back to a 3-5-2 formation.

Three years ago, Sessegnon scored 15 goals in the English Championship with Fulham, as he was employed both as a winger and at fullback as the Cottagers were promoted to the top flight.

Competition for the player will be fierce but the offer of regular first-team football might make a move north of the border an attractive proposition.
