Celtic Line Up ‘Shock Move’ For Northern Ireland International

Celtic are weighing up a “shock move” for Motherwell midfielder Liam Donnelly before the end of the month, according to Belfast Live.

The Hoops are reportedly keeping tabs on the Northern Ireland international after an impressive season which has seen him score nine goals in 20 appearances. It also led to him being recalled to the national team for a friendly against Luxembourg back in September.

Donnelly is a right-back by trade but he has been employed as a wing-back and a central midfielder by manager Steve Robinson this season.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon may well be considering the 23-year-old as another potential option in midfield. Ismaila Soro is expected to arrive from Bnei Yehuda very shortly but they could still be looking for more depth in the position.

Belfast Live report that the Scottish champions are seeking one or two more signings before the window closes and another midfielder is high on their list of priorities.
