Celtic Linked With Shock Move For 26M Rated Spanish Teenage Sensation

Celtic are one of nine teams interested in signing Real Valladolid right-back Ivan Fresneda, according to reports in the Spanish media.

The 18-year-old has only recently broken into Valladolid’s starting lineup, having made nine senior appearances for the La Liga side so far, and it appears his performances are attracting interest from clubs across Europe.

Arsenal, Fulham, Brentford, Southampton, AC Milan, Juventus, Rennes and Villarreal are expected to join the Hoops in the race for Fresneda, who has a €30m (£26m) release clause.

The defender could be sold for below his current buyout fee, but Celtic may still only have the funds to recruit him if they get a good price for Josip Juranovic.

It has been widely reported that the Croatian will be sold during the January transfer window, with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Torino all said to be eyeing the fullback. However, his former team, Legia Warsaw, are due to receive a large percentage of any fee due to a sell-on clause.
