Celtic Look To Thrash Out Deal For International Defender Before Deadline

Celtic are scrambling to secure the signing of Kilmarnock left-back Greg Taylor before the transfer window shuts on Monday, according to the Sunday Mail.

The Hoops were said to be hopeful of getting the deal over the line so he could feature in today’s Old Firm clash, but that has not happened, with the transfer also being dependent on two players moving the other way.

Defender Jack Hendry is set to move on a season-long loan to Rugby Park, while left-back Calvin Miller could join Kille on a permanent basis.

Celtic have been very busy in the transfer market over the past week. After signing Moritz Bauer on Wednesday, they then secured Southampton winger Mohamed Elyounoussi on Friday.

The Norwegian international has signed on a season-long loan just a year after signing for the Saints from FC Basel in a deal worth £16m.

So far this summer, Celtic have recruited five permanent signings and three loans, and they will be hoping Taylor becomes their ninth recruit.
