‘Superb’ ‘We Won’t Miss Jota One Jot’ Fans Are All Saying The Same Thing About Celtic Ace’s Preseason Form

Celtic winger Liel Abada looked impressive once again as the Hoops drew 1-1 with English Premier League side Wolves at the weekend.

The Israeli international has been one of the Scottish champion’s best performers in pre-season and most fans on Twitter were quick to praise the player after his display at the Aviva Stadium:

Abada’s future at Celtic remains uncertain

After contract talks stalled at the end of last season, it was reported that Celtic were open to selling the 21-year-old for the right price.

At the time, Southampton were named as favourites to snap up Abada, but their relegation from England’s top flight ended any talk about a transfer to the south coast. Since then, manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed he has had a heart-to-heart with the player, hinting that the Israeli could stay put:

“We had a nice conversation, a really open conversation, when I came in. He sat in the office and I just wanted to know what his ambitions were and what he wanted to achieve. He is very keen and he really wants to be here to improve. But he also understands there needs to be competition when you are at a top club. That pushes you.”

Abada will have to fight for his place

Following the arrival of Marco Tilio from Melbourne City and the addition of Yang Hyun-jun, Abada won’t be a guaranteed starter for the Hoops this campaign.

As Rodgers has mentioned, though, competition for places may help get the best out of the winger, and that appears to be the case, based on his pre-season performances.
