Celtic Now Red Hot Favourites To Seal 5M Transfer After DOUBLING Rival’s Wage Proposal

Celtic are the firm favourites to sign Hajduk Split centre-back Mario Vuskovic after offering the 19-year-old a four-year contract worth £12,000 a week, according to reports in Scotland.

The proposal is said to be worth double what Torino are prepared to pay the defender, and there is now a growing possibility that he will make the move to Parkhead.

There are other teams involved, including Feyenoord and FC Basel, but Vuskovic’s representatives reportedly see Celtic as the best move for the youngster’s career.

Reports suggest that the Croatian would cost £5m and manager Ange Postecoglou is believed to have already approved the club’s attempts to sign the player.

The club currently have just three centre-halves in Christopher Jullien, Stephen Welsh and Kristoffer Ajer, with the latter expected to be sold this summer with one year left on his contract.

Postecoglou is thought to be very keen to get numbers in through the door, as soon as possible, to give him as much preparation time ahead of the Champions League qualifiers next month.
