Celtic Projected To Receive ‘Seven Figure’ Sum If EPL Club Seals January Deal For 25M Rated Dutch International

Celtic are likely to receive a “seven figure cash injection” if Bayer Leverkusen wingback Jeremie Frimpong is sold during the January transfer window, according to Glasgow Live.

It has been reported that Leverkusen have slapped a £25m price tag on the Dutch international and, combined with the Hoops’ sell-on clause, it should lead to a sizeable windfall for the Scottish champions.

A number of teams in the English Premier League have been linked with Frimpong. Chelsea have been mentioned as a potential suitor but it is believed that Manchester United are the player’s likeliest destination next month.

Manager Erik ten Hag is looking to provide competition for Diogo Dalot, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka expected to leave Old Trafford if a club can be found for him.

Frimpong only spent eighteen months at Celtic Park but the Hoops managed to secure a £12m profit on the player when Leverkusen snapped him up in January 2021. They could now stand to earn even more if he’s sold on.
