Celtic Set To Announce 18M Transfer As Soon As Postecoglou Is Appointed

Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard will move to Leicester City for a fee in the region of £18m, according to reports in the English media.

The transfer is believed to be near completion with it being said that the deal will be announced at the same time as Ange Postecoglou’s appointment as manager is confirmed.

Edouard is said to have favoured a move to the Foxes over other clubs as he wants to work with former Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers once again.

Arsenal, Tottenham, West Ham, Brighton, Southampton, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Roma have all been mentioned as potential destinations in recent weeks, but it appears that a switch to the King Power Stadium was always the striker’s priority.

The timing of the announcement seems to have been designed to ensure that the news of Edouard’s departure is softened by Postecoglou’s arrival, but fans are unlikely to be placated if the reports are accurate.
