Celtic Starlet In Demand As EPL Side Have Scouts Watching Scottish Youth Cup Triumph

Crystal Palace had scouts watching Celtic defender Mitchel Frame at the Scottish Youth Cup final, according to reports in the Scottish media.

The left-back scored in a dramatic 6-5 win against city rivals Rangers on Wednesday night and his performance would undoubtedly have caught the eye.

It should be pointed out, though, that Frame did sign a long-term professional contract with the Hoops last summer, so he can’t be easily poached by teams south of the border.

Palace were one of the clubs mentioned as potential suitors at the time, along with the likes of Manchester City, Newcastle, Tottenham and Wolves.

It appears that the Eagles have retained an interest in Frame, but Celtic will feel they are in a good position to keep him, as long as the player is happy with his progression towards first-team football.

The 17-year-old has yet to make a senior appearance, although he did play for Celtic B in the Scottish Challenge Cup earlier this season, coming on as a substitute versus Dunfermline back in November.
