Celtic To ‘Hold Off For At Least 20M’ With Club ‘Poised To Make Their Move’ For 22 Goal Forward

Celtic will look to “hold off for at least £20m” before selling Odsonne Edouard, according to the Daily Record.

Leicester are said to be “poised to make their move” for the 23-year-old but there are believed to be four other clubs involved in the battle for the striker.

Arsenal, Aston Villa, Southampton and Roma are also said to be interested in signing Edouard, and Celtic will be hoping to play the teams off against each other in order to get an offer close to their valuation.

With the Frenchman having just one year left on his contract, there would be a temptation to make a lowball bid. Figures of around £15m have been bandied about but such an amount is unlikely to interest the Hoops, who owe the forward’s previous club, Paris Saint-Germain, part of the transfer fee.

Edouard has been below-par this season but his 22 goals in 40 appearances mean Celtic can still feel justified in holding out for their current asking price.
