Celtic Told They Must Cough Up £9m If They Want To Sign 37 Goal Marksman

Celtic will have to pay €10m (£9m) if they want to snap up Wolfsberger striker Shon Weissman, according to reports in Austria.

The Israeli international scored an impressive 37 goals in 40 appearances following his move from Maccabi Haifa last summer and he is now being linked with moves to England and Germany, as well as the Hoops.

A bid for Weisman at that price tag is highly unlikely unless Odsonne Edouard is sold. Reports over the weekend suggested that Arsenal remain keen on the Frenchman, but the Gunners’ interest depends on the futures of strike pair Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.

With that being said, though, Celtic are believed to be looking to agree a contract extension with the player, but they may be putting contingency plans in place just in case the 22-year-old leaves Parkhead.

Weissman would certainly be an exciting addition, considering his superb goal record, but there would be question marks over whether he can replicate his incredible form from last season.
