Celtic Told They Would Be Signing A “Once In A Generation Talent” If They Press Ahead With Move For 5M Rated Teenager

Celtic would land a “once in a generation talent” if they reignite their interest in Oscar Gloukh, according to his agent Shahar Greenberg.

The teenager was heavily linked with a move to Parkhead last year, but a deal never materialised, and Greenberg says that, while the midfielder may be better off staying at Maccabi Tel-Aviv for now, a transfer could still happen this month if a good enough bid is tabled:

“Once in a generation, a player like Oscar Gloukh emerges. Decisions about his future should be thought out in a good way. He is a very special player. The best thing for Oskar Gloukh is to stay at Maccabi Tel Aviv until the end of the season. I reckon that’s what will happen. [But] if the right offer comes, then things can change.”

Reports suggest that Maccabi Tel-Aviv are demanding a fee in the region of £5m to £6m for Gloukh, which is a substantial sum for a player who has made just 31 first team appearances.

However, the 18-year-old is a prestigious young talent, having already made his senior debut for Israel, and scoring his first goal at international level versus Cyprus in November.

With Monaco said to have already started discussions about signing Gloukh, Celtic may have to move quickly if they still want to snap up the youngster.
