Celtic Told To Double £2.7m Offer For Croatian Under 21 International

Celtic are in talks with Hajduk Split over signing David Colina, according to reports in the Croatian media.

The Hoops are said to have proposed to pay €3m (£2.7m) for the 20-year-old but Hajduk are looking to hold out for double that amount.

Colina only signed from Monaco for €700,000 last July but he has quickly made a name for himself in Croatia.

He was handed his first cap for the national team at under 21 level back in October and his value has skyrocketed since then.

Colina played both as a left-back and as a wingback last season for Hajduk so he would certainly be a good fit if manager Neil Lennon opts to play the 3-5-2  system which he employed with so much success at the start of the year.

Greg Taylor will be first choice but, with Boli Bolingoli having failed to convince Lennon, some more competition could be required.
