Celtic Unlikely To Revive Interest In 4M Rated Liverpool Defender

Celtic have distanced themselves from making a move for Liverpool defender Ben Davies, according to reports in the Scottish media.

It had been claimed that the Hoops had made contact with the Reds about signing the 26-year-old, but it is believed Ange Postecoglou’s side have yet to make an enquiry for the centre-back.

Davies was a target for the Scottish champions before he moved to Anfield eighteen months ago. However, since his switch to Merseyside, the Englishman has not played a single minute for the Premier League side.

The centre-half was shipped out on loan to Sheffield United last season, but Liverpool are now looking to offload the player on a permanent basis.

In addition to Celtic, English Championship club Middlesbrough have also been credited with an interest in Davies, but it remains to be seen who will meet his £4m price tag. At the moment, it doesn’t appear very likely that the Hoops will make a bid.
