Celtic V Motherwell Team News And Predicted XI Plus Betting Odds

Celtic are seemingly back in the groove after a difficult start to the season. The Betfred Cup win against Aberdeen at the weekend has added to the momentum they are building in the league.

Unbeaten in ten matches, they head into the game against Motherwell at Fir Park tonight high in confidence, and with the added motivation of displacing rivals Rangers from the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

The Hoops will be without Dedryck Boyata, though, after the centre-back picked up a hamstring injury in the cup final win on Sunday. He’s expected to be out for a couple of weeks with Jozo Simunovic likely to take his place in the side.

Manager Brendan Rodgers will also be without Kristoffer Ajer (eye) and Nir Bitton (knee) but Leigh Griffiths is expected to return to the starting line up after being an unused substitute at the weekend.

For Motherwell, Liam Donnelly and Aaron Taylor-Sinclair are back in training but Chris Cadden, Trevor Carson and Craig Tanner are still on the treatment table. Peter Hartley and Carl McHugh return to the fold after being suspended against Livingston on Saturday.

At the bookies, Celtic are firm favourites with the best price being 3/10 at Unibet. A draw is 5/1 at BetVictor while a Motherwell win is 12/1 with Betfair.

Celtic’s Predicted XI To Face Motherwell:

Gordon, Lustig, Simunovic, Benkovic, Tierney, McGregor, Christie, Rogic, Forrest, Sinclair, Griffiths

Motherwell’s Predicted XI:

Gillespie, Grimshaw, Aldred, Mbulu, Hartley, Tait, Campbell, Bigirimana, Turnbull, Main, Johnson
