Celtic Watching 1.5M Rated Ex Sunderland Winger “Closely”

Celtic are keeping tabs on Sparta Prague winger David Moberg Karlsson, according to Denik Sport. The Czech publication claims that the Hoops are watching the 26-year-old “closely”.

Sparta’s sporting director, former Arsenal star Tomas Rosicky, is said to be open to “interesting offers” for the midfielder who is currently valued at £1.5m by Transfermarkt.

Denik Sport claim that Sparta would demand more than the £1.1m they paid Norrkoping for Karlsson two years ago, but it may not take much more than that to secure his signature.

The wide man came through IFK Gothenburg’s academy before moving to Sunderland in 2013. He has actually played in Scotland before, during a brief six-month loan spell at Kilmarnock back in 2014.

Karlsson left the UK for Danish club FC Nordsjaelland following his time at Rugby Park before eventually moving to the Czech Republic. He has played Celtic twice in the Europa League group stages this season, contributing an assist in both of their wins against the Scottish champions.
