Charlie Nicholas Predicts The Result As Celtic Take On Rangers This Weekend

Ex-Celtic striker Charlie Nicholas expects it to be a lively contest when his former club take on Rangers at Ibrox on Saturday.

Neil Lennon’s side do have a home game against Dundee United before they travel to face their Glasgow rivals but, looking ahead towards the derby this weekend, Nicholas says he is anticipating goals with the two teams sharing the spoils:

“I can see this being an action-packed derby so I’m predicting a 2-2 scoreline, which would keep things ticking over in the title race.”

Despite what Nicholas says, the Hoops really need to get the three points from the Rangers clash to get back into the title race, assuming that is, they pick up a win first tomorrow afternoon.

Celtic may have three games in hand over the Gers, but the 16 point gap is a sizeable one so if they can cut the deficit to just 13, it would certainly reduce the pressure on Lennon and his players heading into the second half of the campaign.

There are still a lot of matches to play but you do feel that a win at Ibrox this weekend could swing the momentum back in the Hoops’ favour.
