Coach Makes Kimmich Comparison As He Values Celtic Target At £4.5m

Legia Warsaw left-back Mical Karbownik could be worth approximately €5m (£4.5m) according to former Poland assistant manager Boguslaw Kaczmarek.

The 70-year-old has managed thirteen different clubs in his homeland and he has been keeping an eye on the young fullback, who has been linked with moves to Celtic, Leeds and Barcelona in recent weeks.

Kaczmarek even claims that Karbownik has the technical ability to play in more central areas, like Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich, where he thinks he would be valued at around triple his current price:

“If he is a full-back, (Legia Warsaw) would earn five million euros from selling him. But if Legia sold him as a ‘number ten’, they would get ten or fifteen million euros.”

“In my opinion, the optimal place for Karbownik is in the middle of the field. He could play the same roles as Joshua Kimmich at Bayern Munich or Marco Verratti at Paris Saint-Germain. Karbownik is mobile and dynamic.”

Kabownik has certainly impressed Celtic scouts with his performances this season, with the 19-year-old having contributed seven assists in 32 appearances.

However, the likelihood of the defender moving to Celtic Park appears to be low at the moment, with the player’s agent having questioned whether his client would be interested in a switch to Scotland.

Even so, manager Neil Lennon is believed to be looking for a new left-back this summer, with Boli Bolingoli having not impressed the Irishman since joining from Rapid Vienna last year.
