Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon has been offered a new deal by the Hoops, according to reports in the Scottish media.
It was believed that the 37-year-old would be leaving at the end of his contract this summer, with the player keen on getting more first-team football.
Supporters on Twitter have been trying to work out why Gordon has been given the chance to stay:

I think the continuity of good pros around the place is essential for this year especially. As long as we still get big Fraz I’ll be happy! ?

Maybe just in case we cannot get The Great Wall

Forster may not be back this season, we Need Gordon and Bain in case

With Fraser Forster having gone back to Southampton, the Hoops could be left with just one senior goalkeeper in Scott Bain if Gordon were to depart.
There are no guarantees he will stay anyway due to the player’s desire to play more games. St Mirren are also said to be in talks with the keeper so it wouldn’t be a surprise if the veteran snubs Celtic’s offer and decides on a switch to Paisley instead.
Gordon has, though, been a good servant to the Scottish champions, having made 242 appearances for the club over a six-year period.
