The agent of Celtic wingback Diego Laxalt has confirmed that the Uruguayan international is interested in moving to England when his loan at the Scottish champions ends.
Ariel Krasouski claims that while the 27-year-old is enjoying his football with the Hoops, he is aiming to play south of the border if he is sold by his parent club AC Milan in the summer:
“Diego is playing a lot of games for Celtic and he is very happy there. They treat him very well in Glasgow. I think Milan will try and sell him at that point before his contract expires in a year’s time. Diego’s wish is to play next season in England. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.”
Although Laxalt has been a solid performer since his arrival from Italy, not many fans on Twitter would be particularly bothered if he doesn’t stay beyond the end of the season:

And knowing Lennon and how he does with loaned players…we won’t see Laxalt again in the team ha!!

Had a great game against milan, looks like there’s bucket loads of potential. But can the current system get the best out of what we have?

Before anything he’s a defender… Collectively our defence has been shocking, how he escapes criticism is beyond me!

Laxalt WISHES to play in England. Surprised if there are many takers as he is only slightly better than Taylor. If Taylor improved his crossing he would be first choice.

To be frank, if this Celtic squad doesn’t clinch 10 in a row, then it will likely be broken up so there won’t be much interest in keeping Laxalt at the club anyway.
Were the Uruguayan to excel in the second half of the campaign and help the Hoops retain the title, it may be a different matter, but that is a long way off at the moment.
