EPL Club Plotting £1m January Raid On Celtic For 28 Year Old Midfielder

Burnley are preparing a bid for Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton, according to the Scottish Sun. The Israeli international will reportedly be the subject of a £1m bid from the Clarets in the January transfer window.

Manager Sean Dyche is said to be a big fan of the player’s versatility, with the 28-year-old capable of playing both in defence and in midfield.

Bitton’s current contract expires at the end of the season and Burnley think they can tempt Celtic into selling up to prevent him from leaving for nothing in the summer.

Neil Lennon has expressed hope that the Israeli will extend his stay at Parkhead, with the Hoops boss having used the midfielder pretty regularly this campaign.

Bitton has made 15 appearances in all competitions, which is already five more than he managed last season. However, he hasn’t started a match since the 2-0 win over Rangers in the Old Firm derby back in early September.
