Celtic confirmed three signings on deadline day but the most significant was that of Kilmarnock’s Greg Taylor. There had been some doubt over whether the move would go ahead, but the club confirmed yesterday that the 21-year-old has joined on a four-year deal.
The Scottish international will come into the squad as direct competition for Boli Bolingoli, as both players look to fill the void left by Kieran Tierney. Fans on Twitter were happy that the Taylor deal finally got over the line:
Great signing!! Flexible player, fast, gets stuck in to challenges and he flattened Joey Barton ?

Interesting to see how he translates from one of the best defensive full-backs in the league to playing for the most attacking team.

Taylor may have a fight on his hands to become first choice if Bolingoli can build on his performance in the Old Firm derby. Still, manager Neil Lennon will be happy to have some added depth in fullback areas.
Moritz Bauer has also joined the club, and along with Hatem Abd Elhamed, the pair should provide decent defensive solidity on the right-hand side as well.
After a difficult start to the summer, Celtic ended up signing eleven players before the transfer window closed.
