‘Hoping He’s Not Out For Long!’ ‘Looks To Be An Incredible Acquisition’ Celtic Fans On Twitter Hail 5M Signing

Celtic striker Albian Ajeti scored his fifth goal of the season in the 3-0 win over Hibernian yesterday afternoon. However, the Swiss international’s game was cut short as he had to be taken off just a couple of minutes after getting on the scoresheet.

The £5m summer signing from West Ham has started the season in excellent form and supporters on Twitter are hoping that the forward can return from injury very soon:

After the game, Hoops boss Neil Lennon provided an update on Ajeti’s situation, stating that he is hopeful that the 23-year-old won’t be out for longer than two weeks:

“Ajeti looks like a hamstring strain, so hopefully that will only be a couple of weeks. It’s unfortunate because he is in great goal-scoring form and we will definitely miss him.”

Considering Odsonne Edouard‘s worrying dip in form, the injury to Ajeti will be a blow to Celtic. Fans will be hoping that others can chip in with a few goals during his absence, with Edouard also, hopefully, getting back to his best in the intervening period.

The Hoops face Sarajevo in the Europa League on Thursday, followed by a trip to St Johnstone this weekend.
