“How Easy Is That?” John Hartson Blasts Two Celtic Defenders For Their Role In Bodo/Glimt Loss

Ex-Celtic striker John Hartson has criticised both Greg Taylor and Josip Juranovic for the role they played in Bodo-Glimt’s second goal last night.

Ola Solbakken turned Taylor inside and out before getting inside the box and passing the ball to Amahl Pellegrino, who was left unmarked by Juranovic. Hartson was very unhappy with the two fullback’s contributions:

“Greg Taylor’s got to show him down the line. He’s cut inside so, so easily. Look at this, this is so feeble from Taylor. Watch, how easy is that? Show him down the line, your body angle is in the wrong shape for a start. He cuts inside, that is just far too easy. And then you’ve got Pellegrino on the back post, Juranovic switches off, look at him trying to play offside when Pellegrino is three yards in front of him. It’s a poor goal to concede.”

While Hartson decided to single out Taylor and Juranovic, the performance from the entire team was nowhere good enough. It was a massive surprise considering the Hoops’ recent form, but there were signs of this coming in the victory over Raith Rovers at the weekend which, despite the 4-0 scoreline, was far from convincing.

With Rangers having recorded a shock 4-2 win away against Borussia Dortmund, it is important that Celtic don’t allow a momentum shift to happen when they get back into league action this weekend. A solid performance against Dundee is required to maintain their slim lead over their Glasgow rivals at the top of the table.
