Celtic were quiet on deadline day with manager Ange Postecoglou having already wrapped up his transfer business in January.
The Scottish champions brought in four new signings in total, including Vissel Kobe’s Yuki Kobayashi, FC Montreal’s Alistair Johnston, Yokohama F Marinos’s Tomoki Iwata (on loan) and Suwon Bluewings striker Oh Hyeon-gyu.
Supporters on Twitter believe Postecoglou has managed to cover all bases with his squad additions, with many pleased that the Hoops managed to get their deals done early in the transfer window:

Another great transfer window by Ange .
He will be already planning for who he wants in the summer .— Jack P (@PiblingtonJ) January 31, 2023
Fair to say it’s been a VAST improvement to last min loan deals

I used to be obsessed with getting a deadline signing in and would always be disappointed if it didn’t happen, now I am really happy that we are doing our business earlier in the window 🍀🍀

Only time will tell how some of these players will perform in Scottish football. As we saw with Oliver Abildgaard, Postecoglou doesn’t get every signing right but he is usually pretty spot on when eyeing talent.
It should be noted that all four players recruited have been brought in to replace outgoing players. Kobayashi (for Moritz Jenz), Johnston (for Josip Juranovic), Iwata (for Alildgaard) and Oh (potentially for Giorgos Giakoumakis). We shall see between now and the summer if they are genuine upgrades on those who’ve departed.
