‘I Knew He’d Do Well’ ‘Must Be A Sell On Clause’ Celtic Fans React As Former Player (Now Worth 25M) Draws Interest From European Giants

Former Celtic fullback Jeremie Frimpong could be on the move once again just a year after leaving for Bayer Leverkusen, according to reports in Germany.

Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona are all said to be keen on the right-back with Leverkusen expected to demand at least €30m (£25m) for the Dutchman.

The Hoops sold Frimpong for £11.5m in January 2021 but the majority of fans on Twitter are now hoping the club will receive more money from the deal through a potential sell-on clause:

Whether Celtic agreed such a clause with Leverkusen, it remains to be seen. They had to pay around £3.5m to Manchester City from Frimpong’s sale because they had a similar clause with the Premier League champions so it stands to reason they would have wanted an agreement with Leverkusen along the same lines.

Frimpong has been in great form this campaign, scoring two goals and providing eight assists in 31 appearances, so the interest being shown in him is not at all surprising.
