“I’m Just Waiting…” Celtic Ace Sends Message To Postecoglou As He Seeks More Game Time

Celtic winger Sasa Haksabanovic says he is “very happy” at Parkhead but he is keen to be handed more starting opportunities by manager Ange Postecoglou to show what he can do.

The Montenegrin international has made just five league starts since arriving from Rubin Kazan for £1.7m last summer and, asked about how he is finding life in Glasgow, the 23-year-old replied:

“I’m enjoying myself. As I’ve said before, I know there’s more to come and I’m just going to wait until I get my chance to start games, so there’s more to come.”

“But I’m very happy to be here, I know we have a good squad of players, a big squad, so I’m just waiting for my time. I’m training hard and improving myself out there.”

Haksabanovic has looked impressive when given cameos off the bench this season. However, it should be pointed out that three of his five goals have come when he was named in the eleven by Postecoglou.

The winger’s comments suggest that he is desperate to be given more minutes to impress but he does have plenty of competition for his place.

Daizen Maeda and Jota are currently first choice in wide areas, and Postecoglou can also call upon Liel Abada and James Forrest, when he is fit. It is up to Haksabanovic to keep knocking on the door and he will, hopefully, get his chance.
