Celtic have been declared champions of Scotland for the ninth season in a row. An SPFL board meeting this morning confirmed the decision with the campaign having to be curtailed due to the global health crisis.
Although supporters would have loved to have sealed the title on the pitch, it just wasn’t possible. The Hoops’ official Twitter account reacted to the news with excitement, and fans followed suit:

The thirteen point gap between Celtic and Rangers means there is no credible argument to be made against the Hoops being handed the title. They may have been some controversy over how it was awarded by the SPFL but a massive turnaround would have been required in the final ten games, which was never likely to happen.
As it is, manager Neil Lennon and his team will now be planning to secure a historic tenth title in a row when next season kicks off.
