“It’s Inevitable” Campbell Expects Celtic To Lose 85 Goal Forward Before The End Of The Month

Ex-Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell still expects Odsonne Edouard to be sold by Celtic before the transfer window closes.

The Hoops have so far struggled to offload the 23-year-old, who has scored 85 goals for the club over the past four years, despite the fact that his contract expires at the end of the season.

Campbell says he does believe a buyer will be found for Edouard, or manager Ange Postecoglou will have to find a way for him to work alongside Kyogo Furuhashi:

“Here’s the thing, Edouard’s been touted everywhere. I think it will happen, it’s inevitable. If it doesn’t I think he can help his new strike partner a lot. He’s seen it, he’s done it. If you take him away, maybe they are a lot weaker. It will be interesting to see how that dynamic works, if he stays and if he goes. But I expect him to go.”

Campbell’s former club Arsenal, along with West Ham, Brighton and Crystal Palace have all been linked with Edouard over the past six months, but reports suggest that the Frenchman’s wages are putting off potential suitors.

Celtic will be determined to prevent the forward from leaving for nothing next summer so there could be some movement on a potential transfer prior to deadline day in 11 days’ time.
