Journalist Backs Celtic To Make Big Money When They Decide To Sell On 3.75M Defender

Celtic will be investing for the future if they do manage to tie up a deal for Lanus left-back Alexandro Bernabei, according to journalist Seba Ongarelli.

The Argentinian reporter believes that the Hoops can expect to sell the defender for a sizeable profit in the coming years:

“He’s young, which is big for Celtic because clubs like them need to develop and then sell these players, to get profit. I think that Bernabei can be one of these players.”

It is believed that Celtic have agreed a £3.75m fee with Lanus to sign Bernabei and he is expected to be in Glasgow imminently to wrap up the move.

Obviously, signing a player directly from South America always comes with a risk attached to it. He has to adapt to a new culture and new way of life, as well as trying to integrate into a competitive team looking to compete for honours on all fronts.

Ongarelli’s remarks do suggest, though, that Bernabei will be up to the task. He will hopefully provide some stern competition for Greg Taylor on the left-hand side of defence.
