Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou “tops” the list of potential replacements for Everton boss Frank Lampard, according to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon.
The Toffees lost 3-0 away to Bournemouth at the weekend and, while the English Premier League side are not looking to dispense with Lampard’s services straight away, that could change if results continue to be poor after the World Cup.
It is believed that Everton are fans of Postecoglou’s no-nonsense style and his attacking brand of football. The fact that he has the same agent as Lampard would also help negotiations run more smoothly.
However, it remains to be seen whether the Australian would actually be interested in making the switch to Merseyside if the job does become available.
Postecoglou is currently managing a side who could potentially return to the group stages of the Champions League next season so it is hard to see why he would be keen on joining a team struggling at the wrong end of the Premier League table.
