Kris Boyd Names Celtic Trio In His Team Of The Year

Sky Sports pundit Kris Boyd has given places to three Celtic players in his “team of the year”.

The former Rangers striker named centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers in his back three, with the American international having performed well since his arrival on loan from Tottenham in the summer.

Another loanee, Jota, was also given recognition by Boyd, while the pundit reserved special praise for Kyogo Furuhashi, who he believes has kept the Hoops in the hunt for the title:

“Kyogo who has been a breath of fresh air since he came to Scottish football. His movement has been first class and his finishing has been really good as well. The impact he’s had has probably kept Celtic within touching distance of Rangers as there have been a lot of games that have been tight and he’s been able to find that opener or winner.”

There was no room for Celtic captain Callum McGregor, though, with Boyd saying he narrowly missed out to Rangers’ Glen Kamara.

Two other Gers’ players were also handed places in Boyd’s eleven: James Tavernier and Joe Aribo but the rest of the team was made up of stars from other clubs.

Hearts pair Craig Gordon and John Souttar were included, along with the likes of Dundee United’s Charlie Mulgrew, Hibernian’s Martin Boyle and Motherwell’s Tony Watt.
