Leicester Targeting Celtic Playmaker As They Consider Tielemans’ Replacement

Leicester City are interested in signing Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The Danish Under 21 international only joined from MK Dons for £1.5m during the January transfer window but Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers is seemingly keen to raid his old club to bring in the playmaker this summer.

With the Premier League club resigned to losing Youri Tielemans, who has been heavily linked with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham and West Ham in recent months, it appears O’Riley has been identified as his successor.

Celtic are unlikely to be open to selling the 21-year-old, who impressed during his first six months at Parkhead. After qualifying for the group stages of the Champions League, the Scottish champions are under no pressure to sell.

With Leicester not believed to be in the greatest position financially either, the likelihood is that O’Riley will be staying with the Hoops.
