Leicester ‘Will Make A £25m Bid’ For Celtic Midfield Maestro As They Seek Maddison Replacement

Leicester City “will make a £25million bid” for Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor in the summer, according to the Scottish Sun. Ex-Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers is keen on recruiting his former player as he seeks a replacement for James Maddison.

Manchester United are said to be lining up an £80m offer for the Foxes star and it will lead the English club into making another approach for McGregor.

The 26-year-old was the subject of interest from Leicester last summer but the Scottish champions knocked back the advances of the EPL outfit.

£25m would match the record transfer fee that Celtic received for Kieran Tierney in August, and the Scottish Sun report that Rodgers feels it will be enough for the Hoops to sell up.

Considering McGregor has never shown any desire to leave Parkhead, and the fact that he is a prime candidate to replace Scott Brown as captain, you have to think Celtic will put up a fight in order to keep hold of the Scottish international.
