Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic put in a very poor performance in the surprise defeat to FC Copenhagen on Thursday night, and there have been question marks over the Croatian’s future as a result.
Supporters on Twitter have been venting their frustrations about the centre-half’s display in the aftermath of the game:
Man is a joke and Lennon is aswell for playing him HH

Agreed, time for him to move on.
Will always be remembered for the best tackle I've ever seen when he put kenny millar into orbit— ????????? McGoo ????????? (@mcgoo44) 28 February 2020
Honestly I knew in my gut were were getting beat tonight don't know why. Simunovic has never been a Celtic player for me. Absolute liability. Ach well fewer games to play ??

But it wont and I'll wager he gets a contract extension. The fault tonight lies with NL. Jozo has been poor/ injured for most of his contracts but still manages to hold a place down. 6 million spent in January and no improvement. The money would have been better in the bank.

To be fair to Simunovic, he is coming off a six-month layoff from a serious knee injury, and it can take a while to find your best form again.
On top of that, Neil Lennon’s decision to switch to a back four also did not help matters. The centre-back has been more comfortable in a back three in recent weeks, but his deficiencies were exposed when he has less cover around him.
Whether Simunovic will be able to recover from this low point in order to recover his reputation at the Hoops, we shall have to wait and see, but it’s going to be a tough task for the 25-year-old.
