Celtic will only bring in a new striker if they manage to offload Albian Ajeti, according to Football.Scotland‘s deputy editor Mark Hendry.

The reliable journalist claims the Hoops are currently “happy” with having five strikers in the squad, including Giorgos Giakoumakis, Kyogo Furuhashi, Daizen Maeda and Johnny Kenny, but things could change if Ajeti departs.

Since arriving from West Ham for £5m two years ago, Ajeti has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter. He began his time in Scotland well enough, with five goals in his first six league appearances, but things have gone south for him since then.

Manager Ange Postecoglou started him just six times in all competitions last season, and he has subsequently been deemed surplus to requirements by the Australian.

No team has made an approach for Ajeti so far this summer and it does seem unlikely that any club will make an approach for him.
