Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley struggled with consistency for most of last season and it was sometimes hard to tell whether he would put in a sublime performance or a rather average one.
Following the return of Brendan Rodgers to the club, who is known for getting the best out of young players, fans on Twitter believe O’Riley could be one of those who benefits the most from the Irishman’s appointment:
Natural development is expected at his age, but 100% agree that BR will get the best out of him

Think O’Reilly made reference to having problems off field last season and that is where BR excels he is an excellent man manager! I think he will thrive I think Turnbull will be given a chance too!

O’Riley does fit Rodgers’ style of play
The Danish Under 21 international is very comfortable on the ball and, considering Rodgers favours possession-based football, you would think that the midfielder will enjoy working under his new manager.
Whether that will help O’Riley with his consistency, we shall have to wait and see, but you do get the feeling that he will feature regularly for the Hoops next season. Leicester were reportedly one of the teams interested in signing the player last year so Rodgers is clearly a fan.
Celtic may still have to fend off interest from other clubs
While speculation about O’Riley’s future has died down in recent months, teams south of the border will still be keeping a close eye on his progress.
Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool Newcastle and Crystal Palace are just some of the Premier League clubs who have taken a keen interest in the 22-year-old so, if he does hit form next campaign, the Scottish champions will have a battle on their hands to keep him in Glasgow.
