Matt O’Riley Praises Two Celtic Signings Who Have “Settled In Really Nicely” At The Club

Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley says he has been impressed by both Tomoki Iwata and Yuki Kobayashi since their arrival at the club.

Both players arrived from the J League during the January transfer window and O’Riley believes the two players have adapted quickly to life in Scotland:

“Even though he [Iwata] is such a tank, like I said he’s really composed on the ball, very calm. Really, really nice person. Same as Yuki in that regard. I think both of them have settled in really nicely.”

While it’s fair to say that neither Iwata nor Kobayashi have had the sort of impact that Reo Hatate did after he first arrived in January last year, they have not put a foot wrong when called upon.

Iwata has performed well in Aaron Mooy’s absence and, while he was benched for the derby versus Rangers last week, he returned to the starting eleven against Kilmarnock at the weekend.

Kobayashi has had to be more patient for his chances, having only made four appearances for the Hoops so far, but he performed ably against Killie, filling in for Cameron Carter-Vickers who was rested.
